This is an interactive version of the Nature Relatedness Scale (NR-6).

Introduction: The psychological construct of "nature relatedness" was developed in the field of environmental psychology. Individual definitions vary, but a straightforward one is "the strength of an individual's connection to nature". The Nature Relatedness Scale (NR-6) was developed for use in research in 2013 by Elizabeth K. Nisbet and John M. Zelenski. It has been employed to study how a broad range of topics are connected to nature relatedness, from psychedelic use (Mograbi et al., 2022) to product choice and shopping behavior (Pakingan et al., 2022). For further information about the effects of nature relatedness and correlations of the NR-6, see our page with supplemental documentation which users of this scale can use to interpret their scores.

Procedure: The test consists of six statements of opinion that you must rate on a five-point scale based on how much you agree with each. It should take most people about one minute to complete.

Participation: This test is provided for educational purposes only. It should not be used as psychological advice of any kind and comes without any guarantee of accuracy or fitness for any specific purpose. Additionally, your responses may be recorded and anonymously used for research or otherwise distributed.
